The Bruins wrapped up their IESA regular season with an 11-8 win over Christian Elementary School. Jacob Wear picked up the win when his teammates put up 5 runs in the 4th inning to put the Bruins in front to stay. Wear also had a 4-for-4 day at the plate and reached base a 5th time on a CES error. Hats off to Jack Duncan who reached base in 3 of this 4 plate appearances, including a double in the big BSS 4th inning. Hats off to Greg Larson who had a big double to start the Bruins big 3rd inning. Hats off to Anton Katalinich who also had a big single in the Bruins big 4th inning rally. Hats off to David Wasser who went 2-for-3 at the plate. Hats off to Joey Huddleston who had singles in his first two plate appearances. Hats off to Casey Sheehan who reached base in 2 of his 4 plate appearances. Hats off to Trey Dhabalt and Brooks Fortune who each reached base on 1 of their 2 at-bats. Every BSS player was able to get on base at least once, with the whole team reaching base 23 times. Although bending a little against the first 4 CES batters, the Bruins defense effectively shut down the rest of the CES lineup. The Bruins pitchers gave up only 2 walks!! Hats off to Tom Newell who made a great catch of a liner to first and who made four other unassisted put-outs. Hats off to Duncan who made a great catch of a liner to third to end the CES big 3rd inning and a solo put out in the 5th inning. Hats off to catcher Tom Newell who recovered on a passed ball, flipping it back to Wear to nab the CES runner at the plate, stopping a 6th inning CES rally. In the bottom of the last inning, with the first two CES batters reaching base, one on an error and one on a walk, and the tying run coming to the plate, Wear struck out the next 3 CES batters to nail the win. With this victory, the Bruins ended their IESA regular season with a 3-6 records.
