Enno Regains First Position with
Frank and Bloink Still on His Heels
At Chatham Quad

Springfield, IL (October 1, 2002) — Michael Enno regained his first position on the BSS/SAS Boys CC Team on Tuesday after a disappointing race at Olympia Saturday where he still put up a very impressive time but fell behind teammate Chris Frank. Enno posted 12:51 on the flat course in Chatham for an overall 5th place finish.

Chris Frank and Gus Bloink ran their usual stride for stride race and held out with Enno for as long as they could. Both boys put up good times of 13:11 and 13:14 respectively for 22nd and 23rd place in a field of 93 runners. Chatham is typically the hardest team BSS/SAS runs against all season.

Val Contri was able to pull himself off the football field for the Chatham meet and came in fourth for the team posting 13:52. Michael Witsman, Andy Ralph and Nick Garcia rounded out the top seven posting 14:00, 14:06 and 14:12 respectively.

Peter McDermott(14:27), Greg Larson(14:40), Trey Dhabalt(14:49), Ryan Timmony(14:52), Joey White(15:08), Ryan Cioti(15:10), Zach Jones(15:11) and Tim Capestrain(15:42) also ran good races at Chatham on Tuesday

With the Sectional Race so close at hand and two meets scheduled in the same week, Sectional Seven Runners were given a choice as to whether or not they wanted to compete in both races. Several Varsity Girls and a few boys opted out of the Chatham meet some still recovering from injuries still others holding out for the Rochester Triangular on Thursday.

The East Peoria girls and the Chatham boys had an outstanding showing EP taking eight of the top ten positions for girls and Chatham taking eight of the top ten spots for boys with the winner posting 11:18.

Melissa Gay took a first place finish for the BSS/SAS Girls team posting 14:42. She placed 20th overall in a field of 63 total runners. Kaitlyn White posted 15:21 for a team second individual and an overall 27th place. Kaite Dersser came in 39th posting 15:55 for a third position on the team. Abby Vespa posted 17:23 for a team fourth and Abby Roberst and Lilly Criscione rounded out the girl's team posting 19:21 and 19:28 respectively.

"With only one regular season meet left before the Sectionals to be held in Monticello, Illinois these BSS/SAS kids are doing great. If everyone has their heads in the right place and goes out to run their best times at Sectionals another trip to State this year is very possible," said Coach Jacki Ralph. Next Up Rochester
