Welcome to the 2010 – 2011 school year!

You may be familiar with the God’s W.I.S.H. committee.  For those who are not, we’d like to share a little about it.  It is a part of the Parent/School Association and has been around for many years.  The mission of God’s W.I.S.H. is to help our school children recognize God’s caring actions in their lives through traditional Catholic devotions and activities.  Christ’s loving presence should be felt throughout the day during all aspects of life.  God’s W.I.S.H. committee will encourage Christ-like attitudes, strong faith, and the discovery of the sacredness of God within each person’s heart.

With that mission in mind, we have some fun events planned for the students this year.  In addition, we will be sending home a monthly newsletter to share some of these devotions and activities with your family.

If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share or if you are interested in being a part of the God’s W.I.S.H. Committee, please contact Susan Faivre at tsfaivre@sbcglobal.net.

We look forward to another blessed year!

September Highlights:

September 14th – The Exaltation of the Holy Cross (all school mass)
September 21st – Saint Matthew the Apostle
September 23rd – Saint Pio of Pietrelcina
September 29th – Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels

We encourage you to learn more about these saints and special days.  Consider a craft or a meal that relates to them.  Print out a cross or angel and have your child decorate it.  Or plan a special Italian meal in honor of Padre Pio.  Have fun and share the important message of these saints with your children!

Classroom Icons:
Each year, we distribute icons of saints for each teacher to display in their classroom.  We hope to share a little celebration with each classroom to highlight their saint.  Ask your child about their classroom icon.
