Cub Scout Pack 31 gives a big
THANK YOU to the adults who worked the State Fair fundraiser!
Ruth Hanken, Tom Faivre, Melissa
Coady, Jenny & Joe Bright, Rebecca Brown, Tim Moore, Tom Little, Corynn Good &
her father, Larry Miller, Matt Dietrich, Mark Birtch, Bob Scott, Anne Short,
Jayne Joseph, Tim Thornberry, and Paul Antonacci all worked shifts on Thursday
to raise money for the pack. Your dedication to Scouts is appreciated!
Pack 31 has had a great summer!
They met for 3 very successful events and earned their National Summertime
Award. In June the Scouts built boats and competed in the 2nd Annual
Raingutter Regatta at Lincoln Park. In July they rented the Nelson Center Pool
for a family swim party. And in August the Scouts and their families attended
Scout Day at the Illinois State Fair. They fished, practiced archery, target
shot BB guns and paddled the giant canoe, not to mention rode rides & ate things
on sticks!
The Cub Scouts had a great time
camping this summer, too. Many attended Day Camp at Camp Illinek. Scouts also
enjoyed staying at Resident Camps at Camp Eastman on the Mississippi and the
W.D. Boyce Council Camp at East Bay on Lake Bloomington.
There are many more exciting Scouting activities planned for this fall! BSS Pack 31 is the oldest pack in the Abraham Lincoln Council, in their 67th year. Last year they were awarded recognition by Bishop Paprocki and the Catholic Committee on Scouting as a Quality Catholic Unit.
