Blessed Sacrament Preschool opened its doors in September 2004, and we are excited to be moving into our new classrooms in the school addition for the 2011-2012 school year.  We offer a morning program, which runs from 8:15 – 11:00 a.m.  The three-year-old class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  The four-year-old class meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.  We also offer an afternoon class, Monday through Friday, for four and five-year-olds, which runs from 12:00 – 2:35 p.m.  In addition, we offer a full-day class for four and five-year-olds, which follows our regular school schedule.  Children must be three or four years old, respectively, by September 1^st of the school year.

 The philosophy on which Blessed Sacrament Preschool is based centers upon making the child’s first school experience a positive one.  We offer the children a warm, loving, God-filled environment where they can develop a positive self-concept as they actively explore their world and where they interact with the teacher and each other.  We have a structured but flexible informal setting where the children enjoy learning through a variety of hands-on activities and materials.

 We use the Rowland Reading Foundation’s Happily Ever After series with our four-year-old classes.  This program focuses on oral language and vocabulary, listening skills, direction following, and fine motor skills.  We use a workbook for the religion program but also incorporate religious concepts and values in all we do throughout our day.  We also present social and scientific fun, language and math skills, motor skills, reasoning skills, and opportunities for social and emotional development.  The preschool classes include a lot of creative, musical and motor activities.  Praying together and developing sensitivity to the feelings and needs of others are important steps toward developing Christian attitudes in children and are an important part of our preschool program. 

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.      Children must be 3 or 4 years old, respectively, by September 1^st of the school year.

2.      Children must be toilet-trained in order to enroll in the program.

3.      The preschool follows the Blessed Sacrament School calendar regarding holidays, etc.

4.      Arrival time for half-day preschool is between 8:05 and 8:15 a.m. for morning classes and between 11:50 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for afternoon classes.  Dismissal time is 11:00 a.m. for morning and 2:35 p.m. for afternoon.  (Arrival and dismissal times for the full-day class follow our regular school schedule.)

5.      A field trip or special visitor is planned as often as the occasion works out for each class. Ideas are welcome.

6.      A health physical, including lead screening, is required for each child enrolling in the program.  These are due by October 15^th.  Please let us know if your child has any food allergies. 

7.      Tuition is currently $95 per month for the 3’s class, $120 per month for the 4’s class, $175 for the 4-5 year-old afternoon class, and $3680 per year for the full-day class.  (Preschool students do not qualify for any discounts in tuition based on additional children in our school.)

8.      To hold your child’s place in a preschool classroom, payment for the first month is due by July 15, 2011, and is non-refundable.
