Grandparents/Special Persons Day

"My grandmother is special because when I go over to her house I get to make cookies.  And when I can, I get to stay up late.  She has a TV in her room and we watch movies in her room.  She babysits me so I get to go to McDonalds."  Lucy, grade 2

"My Grandma loves me.  She's got two dogs named Slick and ChoCho.  She plays Battleship with me.  On Wednesday I stay at her house.  I like to play with her dogs.  I let them lick me."   by Zach

"My grandma and grandpa Shake are special to me because everyday after school its one of them that picks me up and takes care of me until by mom and dad get home.  They also watch me when my mom and dad are out of town, or just out with friends, and my brother can't babysit so they do.  They know what is good for me.  They make sure after school I get a nutritious snack.  They offer to help with my homework, take me places and run errands with me.  I sure do love my Grandma and Grandpa Shake!"   Alison

"I like to go to DJ's with my grandma and grandpa.  I play Candy Land with my grandma."

"My grandma and grandpa aren't special for their cooking, though it's really, really good.  They aren't special for what they give me for Christmas, though they are very generous.  They're not special for their go-kart, though it's real fun going full-speed.  They're not special for what they do, though farming is interesting.  No, the reason why they're special is because I love them and they love me back."    Tynan

 Granparents
Grandparents aren't 8
but they sure are great.

They give me a
drink when I'm hot
and warm me when I'm
cold.  They are so special they
don't even seem old.

This poem is for you
just so you know this
isn't a test and all I
wanted to say is,
I Love You!
You're the Best!

Matthew
