8th grade class trip
On Thursday, May 17th, the 8th grade class of 2001, went on their class trip
to Chicago. They left around 6:15 am. After a long trip on the bus, they went
to the Sears Tower. They took a large elevator to the top level. While they
looked out the windows they saw "The Windy City" (Chicago). They
stayed there for about 45 minutes. After arriving back on the bus they drove a
few blocks to the Mercantile exchange. They went up to the windows where
you can watch all the people doing their hand signals to sell things. They
said it was an interesting experience to see what some people's everyday jobs
are. After that they went to lunch at Ed Debevics. This was probably one of
the weirdest lunches they have ever had. At Ed Debevics the waiters are
supposed to be mean and rude to you. Every half hour or so, they would get up
on the window area and start dancing. After their odd lunch they went to
Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs. They sat in the really crowded,
"Bleachers". They finally found seats in one of the last rows of the
stadium against the fence. Also at the Cubs game there were to guys playing
the drums for money. They played the WHOLE game without stopping. After the Cubs
game they caught a ride on the El from Wrigley field to Disney Quest. At
Disney Quest there were many arcade games and a lot of interactive activities.
They had a great time there. On the way home they stopped at McDonald's for
dinner and they ate it on the bus. They arrived in the parking lot of Blessed
Sacrament at 11:45 PM.
They all had a great time and they would like to thank Mr. Shafer and Mr.
Buskirk for arranging everything, also all the chaperones who took their day
off to come on this special day with them and also to all the parents who have
helped with the pizza lunches, especially Mr. and Mrs. Duncan and everyone
else who helped.
Thank You!!!!!!!
