JEFF
SANDERS WHEN DID YOU GET HERE?
Waverly,
Illinois –April 24, 2001—The St. Agnes/ B.S.S boys team has recently seen
small numbers in regard to attendance at their recent meets. But tonight,
Jeff Sanders was all about putting up big time numbers in the Shot and Discus
Events. Kudos go out to Sanders who finished first in both field events!!
There were four seventh grade boys and 4 eighth grade boys in attendance tonight
for St.Agnes/B.S.S. Not exactly the best numbers for winning a meet. Out
of 26 possible event entries St. Agnes/B.S.S. boys entered 10. “Those in
attendance at tonight’s meet did an awesome job and had a good time doing it.
I was greatful to have them on board,” said coach Ralph. “We were missing
several key players due to the Regional Scholastic Bowl meet. I understand B.S.S.
took first place for their intellect so it was worth it! We can always win more
race sat Thursday afternoon’s meet when those brains are present and working
their legs instead of their minds. In this case perhaps they ought to
bring both.”
Squires, Schafer, Kluzek and Metz finished 2nd in the 4X200M relay posting a
finishing time of 2:13. Patrick Sheehan placed second in the long jump as well
as a very impressive third place come back following a fall at the finish line
in the 100M Dash. Patrick Boyer posted a time of :21.69 for fourth in the 110M
Hurdles and Foster overcame his mind set and placed 3rd in the highjump.
More from the boys on Thursday!

“We had a few injured runners due to track conditions, some team members in
ill health and teammates not in attendance tonight because they were receiving
first place honors at the Scholastic Bowl Regional Competition. I guess if they
are going to miss a race than that is a pretty great reason!
Overall the St. Agnes/B.S.S.track team was awesome as always,” said Coach
Ralph. “Track conditions were not favorable but the team worked hard and were
very supportive of each other and that's what it’s all about. That and having
