The Sky's the Limit for Emily McHenry

Clinton, Illinois -- April 30, 2001, Emily McHenry has been practicing her
vertical jump and it finally paid offin Clinton Illinois at yesterday's meet!
She jumped 4'6" in the high jump giving her a personal best and placing her
first in the 7th grade girls division.  Jacki Alexander took seven seconds
off her 800M time from last meet and is inching her way to a state qualifying
time. She also placed first in the 800M at the Clinton meet with a time of
2:45. Hailee Elmore was impressive as always taking first in both the mile
and the 400M. Where is that camera crew when you need them?

The 7th grade girls finished second at the four way in Clinton yesterday
against a very tough St. Matthew's squad.  Saint Agnes/B.S.S. went home with
four 4ths, two 2nds, 6 thirds and one 5th place.

Karen Trott beat her personal best on the 100M hurdles taking second with a
time of :18.43 while Jacki Alexander placed third in the same event with a
time of :18.44. Katie Jasmon had a mile time of 6:18 giving her a second
place win for the 7th grade girls mile.

All three St. Agnes/B.S.S. relay teams (4x100M, 4x200M, 4x400M) placed third
posting times of 1:00, 2:53, and 5:32 respectively. Emily McHenry, Allie
Bloxdorff, Jacki Alexander, and Becca Schraeder made up the 4X100M relay
team. Liz Pinkham, Hailee Elmore, Betsy Metz, and Kimberly Magerl made up the
4X200M relay team. Stephanie Manker, Katie Jasmon, Maureen O'Marro, and Karen
Trott made up the 4x400M relay team.

Also placing third were Jasmon in the 800M (2:53) and Magerl in the high jump

Grace Gieger threw the discus 52'11" for fifth in that event rounding the
team points out to 48 for second overall.

Shining stars for the eight grade girls were Amy Jones placing third in the

:14.02 for fourth, and a fifth for Jones in the long jump(11'9").  Jacki
Alexander and Mary Kate Fitzgerals tied for third in the high jump at 4'0".

were Kelsy McManus, Kellie Bramlet, Allie Bloxdorf and Alyssa Cunningham.

We had a lonely three man team for both the seventh and eighth grade boys
team. Tom Metz burned up the track, in fact I heard a crew was out fixing it
today, with a time of :27.58 in the 200M for fifth. Brandon Curry placed
fifth in the discus with a throw of 23'5". Patrick Boyer kept a steady pace
in the mile with a time of 6:48. Still new to the event, he is holding own
quite well. St. Agnes/B.S.S. is looking forward to tonight's meet at ISD in
Jacksonville. Only three more meets till Sectionals!!!
