SEVENTH GRADE FISH DISSECTION

The seventh graders are dissecting a perch.  They viewed a filmstrip about general dissection, safety factors, and reasons for dissecting.  In pairs, of their choice, they drew the external anatomy of the fish and labeled all the parts.  They then opened the fish and identified the internal organs and drew them on a labe form.  All students, even those a little uneasy, were able to complete the dissection.  Dissecting microscopes were used to view smaller parts of the specimen including the eggs in the female fish.
