Mayor Hasara Visits BSS

The 4th and 8th grade classes
were visited by a special guest February 19th. Mayor Karen Hasara, a BSS alum,
spoke to both classes about her time at BSS and her duties as Mayor of
Springfield. Students were eager to learn about the life of a mayor and they
asked great questions.
The 8th grade history class worked with the 4th grade class on basic government studies. Earlier in the month both classes met and worked on mobiles about the 3 branches of government. Then, the classes met again and made collages about the importance of the constitution. The 8th graders really enjoyed sharing their knowledge with the enthusiastic 4th grade class.
