News 8/27/01 Play Ball!! The BSS 2001 IESA Season is off and running. The Bruins Baseball Team has started the season with a 1-2 record. BSS played its opening game against Christ the King. Coming back from a 0-4 deficit, the Bruins tied the game 4-4 but could not hold on as Christ the King put the game away in the last inning to win 7-4. On Saturday, Sept. 25, BSS played an away double header against Mt. Pulaski. BSS won the first game 7-5. In the second game, the lead went back and forth. After Mt. Pulaski jumped to an 8-5 lead in the bottom of the 6th inning, BSS tied the game in the top of the last inning. But with last at-bats, Mt. Pulaski was able to drive in the winning run for a 9-8 final score. The BSS Baseball team starts its Springfield Recreation Department fall-ball league games August 29 at 7:45 at Fairview Park. The Bruins play their next IESA game on September 8 at 10:00 a.m. against St. Aloysius at Fairview Park, followed at noon by a SRD game. Come out and support your team!! |
