COLIN SHEVLIN WINS BSS GEOGRAPHY BEE Colin Shevlin, an eighth grader, won the BSS school -level competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 14th. The National Geographic Society holds the competition for students in fourth through eighth grades in thousands of schools across the United States. Colin will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine the state competitors. The state winner then moves on to the national competition in Washington, D.C. Other students who qualified for the school-level bee included Joseph Stegeman, Madie Alexander (4th grade); Amanda Wappel, Paul Garvey( 5th grade); Abby Vespa, Eileen Simon (6th grade); Brooks Fortune, Eric Peters (7th grade); and Hugh McDermott (8th Grade).
