BSS/SAS Track Stars "Run" up the Points
At Our Lady of Lourdes Invitational

Springfield, Illinois - April 2003   Sixth, Seventh and Eighth graders all competed at their own level in Decatur on Saturday, April 12, 2003. This is the third year in a row for the Our Lady of Lourdes Invitational and as stated in the State Journal Register, the BSS/SAS Track Stars made their presence known to OLOL, Lutheran Trinity, Calvary Academy, Decatur Lutheran, Our Savior, Cathedral, and St. John's Lutheran. Point spreads were off the charts with the 7th grade girls scoring 172 points, 8th grade girls at 148 points, 7th grade boys with 92 points, and the 8th grade boys totaling 102 points. Both 7th and 8th grade boys and girls teams took first place overall honors while the 6th grade girls took third and the 6th grade boys took second.

At this point in the season stand outs to keep your eyes are Bridget Helms and Breanne Sergent in the 400M, Helms, Sergent and Craighead in the Long Jump, Helms in the 100M and Sergent in the 100M hurdles, both 7th and 8th grade girls 4x200M relay teams( Helms, Sergent, Craighead, Hanney) & (Malone, Bramlet, Eck, Orlando), Chris Frank in the 1600M and the 800M, Jeff Painter in the 100M and the 200M, the 8th grade boys 4x400M relay team (Enno, Wear, McDermott, McCormick), Jena Reid in the 1600M and the 800M, Melissa Gay in the 800M, Darian Dolenc in the 800M, Ashley Eck in the 400M, Chandler Wescott in the 200M, Ciotti, Enno and McCormick in the 800M, Hugh McDermott in the high jump with several others just peeking around the corner with state times.
