The 8th graders performed a mock trial this week in
preparation for their study of the Judicial Branch. The case was that of the
State of Nurseryland vs. Roy L. Kingsman. Mr. Kingsman was charged with the
crime of first degree murder for the death of Humpty Dumpty.The cast of
characters was as follows:
Judge - Erin Hanney, Kiley Enno
Bailiff - Andy Ralph, Anton Katalnich
Defendant - (Roy Kingsman) Rachel Jennings, Erin
Higginbotham
Defense Counsel - Melissa Gay, Natalie Donaldson
Prosecution - Michael Feller, Sam Perks
Witness for Prosecution - Olivia Gay, Molly Bramlet
Witness for Prosecution - David Comerford, Tyler Casper
The rest of the class acted as the jury. Both juries deliberated and found Roy
L. Kingsman not guilty of the crime of murder.
