 First leg of the race –
Each grade should turn in box tops by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18th.  Points will be given based on the most number of box tops per student –

Second leg of the race -

Each grade should choose to do one of the following and turn them in by 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 25 –

 1)   Grades will earn 5 points if they turn in 10 box tops per student.   (Grades 1 & 4)

 2)   Grades will earn 4 points if they turn in all of the following –    (Grades K, 2, 5, 6 & 8)

5 box tops per student
1 gallon plastic milk jug completely filled with can tabs
2 Campbell’s labels per student

3)    Grades will earn 1 point if they turn in 1 box top per student.    (Grades Preschool, 3 & 7)

SURPRISE TWIST - Wednesday, Feb. 23
Each class was given an envelope today.  It contained either a flyer congratulating them for "Staying on Course" (no changes) or they got a flyer telling them they had to "Yield" (give 1 box top per student to another Grade).

Third leg of the race - 

Each grade should turn in box tops by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4th.  Points will be given this week based on the most number of box tops per student – 

1st Place – 10 points (Kindergarten)

2nd Place – 9 points (Grade 3)

3rd Place – 8 points (Grade 1)

4th Place – 7 points (Grade 2)

5th Place – 6 points (Grade 4)

6th Place – 5 points (Grade 8)

7th Place – 4 points (Grade 5)

8th Place – 3 points (Grade 6)

9th Place – 2 points (Preschool)

10th Place – 1 point (Grade 7)

Classes will be offered bonus points during the week for completing a task or activity from a list of choices that will be presented to each classroom. (These bonus points will be added Tuesday, March 15)

Fourth leg of the race -

Each grade should choose to do ONE of the following and turn them in by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18 -

1)  Grades will earn 5 points if they turn in 5 box tops per student.  (Grades K, 3, 4, 5, & 6)

2)  Grades will earn 3 points if they turn in 3 box tops per student.  (Grades 2 & 7)

3)  Grades will earn 1 point if they turn in 1 box top per student.   (Grades 1 & 8)

During the week each class was given a choice of envelopes to try for a FAST FORWARD (1 bonus point).  Rooms K2, 5, 7, 11 & 12 each earned a point.

Fifth & FINAL leg of the race -

Each grade should turn in ALL the box tops they can find by 9:00 a.m., Friday, March 18th.   Points will be awarded to grades by the most box tops per student.

There will be opportunities during the week to earn bonus points.
(Classes were given the opportunity to pick from 3 envelopes.  One envelope contained a FAST FORWARD which would earn 1 point, one contained a YIELD which would take away a point, and one was a STAY THE COURSE.  One of the 6th grade classes earned a point, one eighth grade and 7th grade "stayed the course" and the rest of the classes that chose envelopes lost a point with a YIELD.)
