BSS/SAS Girls Handle
Christ The King at Rotary Park
BSS/SAS 25 Christ The King 36
Springfield Rotary Park -- (August 31, 2004)
The BSS/SAS girls' cross country team handily defeated the ladies
of Christ The King on a hot, arid day last Tuesday afternoon. Our
gals hung in there despite the heat for an impressive team effort!
The top seven BSS/SAS gals to cross the line included veteran
distance track & field star Julia W. (13:56),
gifted runner Jessica M. (14:43), and
talented newcomer Madie A.
(15:15). Kaylee S. (15:54)
put forth a supreme effort, as did Emily D.
(16:14) and Morgan C. (16:27).
Also doing a fantastic job was Danielle H. (16:37),
who crossed the line 7th for our team but even more impressive was
the fact that she cut over 4 MINUTES off of her time from the
first meet.
Other gals running strong races and likely to be seen among top
runners in future meets were Katie D. (16:38), Kayla K.
(16:42), Kristin G. (16:57), and
Mackenzie W. (17:02).
Showing tremendous improvement from the last meet and taking
MORE THAN ONE MINUTE off of their times were:
Abby B., Brigid C., Madison C., Danielle H., Katie
L., Carlye M., and Mackenzie W. Great job ladies.
You are moving in the right direction!
Coach Enno asked members of the team to set
goals for themselves. Cross Country is a team sport but also very
much an individual sport, keeping in mind that if a runner improves
as the season moves forward and sets and attains goals for
him/herself, therein lies success. Runners meeting
their goals for the Rotary Park meet were:
Danielle H., Abby B., and Carlye M. Our team
has MANY wonderful ladies who all did a
great job and helped our team look PHENOMENAL!
Keep up the good work girls.
BSS/SAS GUYS Trounce

W. (13:08), distance specialist Sean R.
(13:29), and impressive newcomer Sean O.
(13:33). Next were supreme efforts from
Michael R. (13:59) and Zach J. (14:15).
Not far behind were running veterans Joey W.
(14:17) and Peter M. (14:37).
Other guys to watch from this team and likely to be found in the
top 7 in future meets are Eric D. (14:41), Joey S.
(14:59), and Griffin L. (15:23).
Showing tremendous improvement and cutting MORE THAN
ONE MINUTE off of their times from the first meet
were: Kevin C., Jarred C., Nick E., Max F., Brendan F.,
Michael K. (cut more than THREE minutes off),
Gabe K., Nick R., Michael S., and Joey S..
Cross Country Powerhouses who met their GOALS
set before the race included: Sean O., Sean R, Dan

GREAT JOB gentlemen -- hopefully that list
will just get longer and longer each time we run a meet! All of these
young men contributed to an impressive showing at Rotary Park and
we look forward to seeing them give it their all in Petersburg on
Tuesday.
