PRESS RELEASE

BSS/SAS GIRLS LOOKIN' GOOD AT FRANKLIN
Franklin Lake -- September 18, 2004
Our girls looked fantastic at Franklin on a beautiful sunny day last
Saturday. We placed THIRD out of 25 teams -- WOW! The course in Franklin
defines true cross country running, with numerous hills, dips, and cattle hoof
tracks scattered throughout! This did not seem to deter the ladies of
BSS/SAS, all of whom bravely faced the tough course and the
intense competition. To give you an idea how intense the
competition was, the first place female runner in this meet ran a 12:52 and
was from Chatham. The first place male from Bloomington finished with a
10:11. Gulp.
In the starring role for the BSS/SAS team was Julia
Wykoff, with a personal best time of
13:28. Second in command was super strider Jessica Megginson
(13:41), also a personal best time. Next to cross
for our team was up and coming runner Kayla Kolis (14:59)
with yet another personal best time! Following
Kolis were consistent contributors Emily Delvo (15:12),
Kaylee Sables (15:19), Mackenzie Wortley
(15:28), and Madie Alexander (15:32).
A BIG pat on the back is need for a few other superstars who
attained personal best times on this most
difficult course. Kudos to Madison Clem, Brittany Clasen,
and Carlye Marzalek. GREAT JOB ALL!
BOYS GIVE VALIANT EFFORT AT FRANKLIN
The men of BSS/SAS put on a super show on this picture
perfect day in Franklin, placing 6th out of 25 teams. Our presence was
definitely felt by the competition!
Taking the reins on this most challenging of courses for BSS/SAS
was trailmaster Sean Ryan (13:14). Following were super
striders Sean Orlando (13:27) and Michael Ralph
(13:36). Not far behind with amazing personal best runs were Eric
Delvo (13:55) and Griffin Ludwig (14:14). Next was
consistent contributor Joey Showtis (14:35) with a fantastic
time, and superstar Matthew Wesley with a personal best time
of 15:03.
Other gentlemen showing what they had on this difficult course and attaining
personal best times were Brendan Cavanagh,
Kevin Cavanagh, Gabe Krukowski, Joe Lafata, and Michael
Schaddel.
I apologize for leaving Joey Showtis and Mason
Switzer off of the list of distance demons attaining personal
best times in the last press release (Rotary Park). Both of these
young runners have done an outstanding job and just keep the times creeping
down....keep up the good work guys.
FANTASTIC JOB EVERYONE!
