 GIRLS PRESENCE FELT IN OLYMPIA!

On a beautiful morning last Saturday in Olympia the ladies of BSS/SAS made their presence known, bringing home a 4th place trophy.  The competition was intense, with 28 teams running the course.  Olympia is traditionally a very fun course to run, and our athletes often bring home their best time of the entire season from this meet.  Well, this year was no different for the boys and girls of BSS/SAS!!!

Coming back strong after being on the injured list was Julia Wykoff with a season's best time of 12:58.  Following right behind her was super strider Jessica Megginson (13:09), also a season's best.  Next were consistent contributors Madie Alexander and Kaylee Sables, both with 14:19.   Right behind them were Emily Delvo (14:21), Kayla Kolis (14:22), and Mackenzie Wortley (14:32) with great runs.  It is noteworthy that ALL of these runners cut a full 30 seconds off of their previous personal bests, which is very tough to do when the time is already in the 13 to 14 minute range.  Awesome job girls!

Other stellar accomplishments include the following runners cutting OVER ONE MINUTE off of their previous best times Abby Bloink, Brigid Cavanagh, Helen Cavanagh, Brittany Clasen, Madison Clem, Lexi Enno, Sierra Gonzalez, Carlye Marzalek, Courtney McCarty, Hannah Perrin, Alexandria Maillet, and Christine Maillet.

Lady road racers CUTTING 30 SECONDS or more off of their best times include superathletes Morgan Clem, Katie Dresser, Kristin Grimsley, and Danielle Hokzema.

WAY TO GO GIRLS!

INTENSE COMPETITION BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN OUR GUYS

Though the gentlemen of BSS/SAS did not bring a trophy home from Olympia (placed 8th out of 25), it is IMPOSSIBLE to be disappointed with the effort of these guys.  On a perfect day for running, these superstars were primed and ready to give fantastic performances.

Leading the way for BSS/SAS across the finish line was reliable runner Sean Ryan with a season's best time of 12:20.  Right behind him was superstar Sean Orlando, also with a best time of 12:22.  Two other runners crossed the line and broke the 13:00 minute barrier and they were consistent contributors Michael Ralph (12:41) and Joey White (12:49).  Just over the 13:00 minute mark was hard-working Griffin Ludwig (13:03), who cut over 1 minute off of his previous best performance, while up and coming runners Eric Delvo (13:27) and Joey Showtis (13:44), ran a full 30 seconds faster than their previous best times.  Once again, this is extremely difficult to do once those times are already in the 13 to 14 minute range.  AWESOME WORK GENTLEMEN!

Other runners deserving a big pat on the back for shaving OVER ONE MINUTE off of personal bests were Brendan Cavanagh, Kevin Cavanagh, Jarred Coady, Brendan Finnell, Michael Schaddel, Mason Switzer, and Matt Wesley.  Those cutting 30 seconds or more off were Nick Enno and Max Favero, while other personal bests included Nathaniel Langfelder and Kyle Johnson.

GREAT JOB GUYS!  See you all tomorrow in Delavan, where we will keep our fingers crossed that our luck doesn't run out with the weather.  Dress warmly!
