DYNAMITE IN DELAVAN!

I was asked by several of our team members if I would please get a press release out for the Delavan meet soon.  I am so flattered that someone reads them and looks forward to them!  I apologize for the tardiness of this release.  My week was extremely busy, but I'm catching up on some things today.  One of those very important things is the news on Delavan!

On Saturday, October 1st, on a beautiful day in Delavan our girls were presented with a 3rd place trophy and our boys secured a 4th place finish.  This is truly noteworthy, as there were 32 teams at this invitational and it was the toughest competition we faced all season except for sectionals!  There were 967 runners and 27 pages of results that were faxed to us.  A HUGE thank you to St. Agnes Athletic Director JOAN BAKER, who made sure these were copied and distributed.  MRS. BAKER does so much behind the scenes work to help our cross country team and we are very grateful to her for everything!

With so many runners, it was truly an accomplishment to bring home an individual medal from this meet.  Distance standouts JESSICA MEGGINSON (14th place, 12:53) and SEAN RYAN (9th place, 11:36) wore medals home from this meet.

Duchess of distance EMILY DELVO (13:13) had a great race, followed by victory veterans MADDIE ALEXANDER (13:47), KAYLA KOLIS (13:52), MACKENZIE WORTLEY (13:53), MARIA LOWIS (14:13), and KRISTIN GRIMSLEY (14:50).  We need to note that this course was changed from last year, and this year it was exactly 2 miles.  Apparently in the past this course had been approximately 1.97 miles rather than 2 miles.  So, runners who ran this course last year please keep this in mind when comparing your times.

Girls attaining personal best times for the season on the Delavan course were HELEN CAVANAGH (19:54), MADISON CLEM (16:03), MORGAN CLEM (15:05), MOLLY DRAKE (16:44), DANIELLE HOEKZEMA (14:56), AMBER MODER (22:52), HANNAH PERRIN (17:46), ABBY RALPH (16:00), ERIN SAAL (19:55), and ELLEN WESLY (16:42).  Wonderful work girls!

Tremendous trailmaster JOEY WHITE (12:14) ran strong for the guys, followed by distance moguls MICHAEL RALPH (12:55), ERIC DELVO (13:09), JOSH MEGGINSON (13:10), MASON SWITZER (13:17), and JOEY SHOWTIS (13:24).  What a phenomenal top 7 group of representatives!
