During the month of September students participated in Spirit Day, a walk-a-thon, and a coin drive to raise money to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. On September 23rd they presented checks to Catholic Charities and the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Mission.
Catholic Charities received $845.00 from PSA for Spirit Day and
$2354.27 from the walk-a-thon, sponsored by the 5th grade.
Mrs. G showed the students how their money grew
during the week of the coin drive.
First, with $212 worth of pennies, then nickels, dimes, quarters and ending with
over $900 in dollars. A total of $3465.00 in one week!
